Dubai Police arrest three suspected thieves in four minutes, recover Dh190,000
Electric scooter patrols help officers navigate crowded markets and narrow lanes
DUBAI – Dubai Police’s e-scooter patrols at Naif Police Station have demonstrated their rapid-response capabilities after three suspects accused of stealing Dh190,000 were arrested within four minutes of the theft report.
The entire amount was recovered from the suspects, according to Dubai Police. The operation began after the Command and Control Centre at the General Department of Operations received the report within Naif Police Station’s jurisdiction.
Descriptions of the suspects were immediately circulated among patrol teams operating in the area. An e-scooter patrol reached the vicinity of the reported incident within two minutes, allowing officers to quickly spread out and search the surrounding area.
The three suspects were arrested within a further two minutes, with the stolen Dh190,000 found in their possession.
Rapid response
Brigadier Omar Mousa Ashour, Director of Naif Police Station, said the swift arrests and recovery of the stolen money reflected the readiness of Dubai Police field teams and the efficiency of the response system.
He said Naif Police Station places strong emphasis on monitoring patrol performance and managing deployment to ensure reports are handled promptly. The approach also supports a sustained security presence across busy locations and high-density markets within the station’s jurisdiction.
Built for mobility
Ashour said the e-scooter patrol project provides a field solution that enables officers to reach incidents quickly, particularly in locations with heavy pedestrian and vehicle movement.
The patrols also offer greater mobility through markets and narrow alleys, where conventional patrol vehicles can face difficulties moving quickly.
He added that Naif Police Station would continue supporting and developing its field operations to improve response times and enhance security efficiency.
